40 - Discovering Jack's 34TFS Web Site
Greetings to everyone from the mountains of western North Carolina.
It was with pure delight that I stumbled upon Jack's superb site honoring the 34th TFS. I have been immersed in the civilian world for some 27 years and far, far removed from military contacts other than a few old retired Jarheads in my area from whom I have to occasionally defend my honor and that of the Air Force, all in good jest of course. So, seeing pictures of so many of the guys I flew with in 1968 was a real shot in the arm. It's great to see the 34th alive and kick'en, thanks to the amazing Internet and to Jack's many hours of putting together and maintaining the site.
Obviously, I had no idea that there had been reunions. I've already emailed Ken Mays to put me on the roster for the Fort Worth gathering. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be there.
Meanwhile, I'm going to start digging into my boxes of old pictures, negatives and slides to see what might be worthy of Jack's site. I hope to find some pictures of some of the "Guys" who have none. We'll see.
All my best to everyone.
Joe,Thanks for the entry and the kind words regarding the site. Folks like you make it fun. Jack
