Hi Bill and Tony Germann
Don Harten and I were together during your F105 training. I worked as as an RN at the hops. Brought Bob Casey's first boy into the world. I spoke to Casey and Mary Beth about 1 1/2 years ago. Just talked about old times and enjoyed every min. of it. I had lunch and dinner with Don Harten last Aug. in Vegas, same old DOn. He mentioned that you also lived in Vegas.
I have been living in San Diego for the last 45 years and met and married a Navy Flyboy. Sorry. Very much the opposite to Don, more like Jim Metz. My heart still hurts about Jim Metz, I was at Takhli (Spelling) when he was shot down.
Anyway after I came back from the Far East, I went back to UCSD Medical School Ext. and became a Nurse Practitioner. Should have gone to Med school in the first place. I retired early, agent orange got me the lung surgeon thinks and had a tumor in my lung and lost half the lung. Never stopped me from playing tennis though. Tough old broad I am. Anyway after that retirement I went into the film business and that is how I met up with Don. My film and my student that I mentored won . It was great seeing him and hearing about his writing and since have read his book. Next one he says I get a "little" mention. I gave him all the pictures I had from Thailand. My filming came to a halt when my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Need to stay home but I allow one treat and that is singing with the San Diego Festival Chorus and Orchestra. We just gave a concert last Sun. to over 1000 in the audience. I guess I like the limelight. I have had a fun life. Looks like I am running out of room. Take care. Love, Mickey
Mickey, Thank you for your service. You've indeed had an interesting journey. Take care, Jack
