123 - Gene Beresik

Paul B. Jansen: p.b.jansen@sbcglobal.net

Hello
I'm the youngest son of Maj. Eugene P. Beresik, I was not quite 5yo when he was KIA; I was directed to this website by Joe Sechler, whom I was put in touch with by Larry Huggins. Much respect and thanks to them both.

First of all, THANK YOU for all the work put into this website - it's a labour of love and respect and it shows. Many of the names are familiar, hearing Mom speak of them over the years. I spoke at length this morning with Joe Sechler, he was flight leader of the second element with my Father on his final mission; I've never had any doubt as to the outcome and his fate but it was still nice to speak to someone who was there.

To the pilots who fought with both hands tied behind their backs...your professionalism and bravery is beyond reproach. Thank you.
To the aircrews who kept them aloft - your hard work and dedication helped them do their job - thank you.

Those of you who knew my Father, I'd love to hear any memories or stories you may have, it helps piece together the jigsaw puzzle that he is in my life.

The Beresik's (Webster, MA) never forgot their youngest son and they never forgot Mom, my brother Mike or I. If any of you knew Mom (Nora) she married an FBI agent in Las Vegas two yrs after Dad was shot down; Bill has treated her (and us) very well, they've been married 46+yrs and are both in great health. She still has many Air Force friends in Las Vegas.

If you're on Facebook, there are a few F-105 pages you might want to follow, that's how I got in touch with Larry Huggins.

Mom has a photo album from that time, many refueling pics and I think some from Korat. I'll scan and submit them.

Republic built a damn good airplane and it's a shame those in charge wouldn't allow it to be used to its full capacity.

A Grateful Son
Paul Beresik Jansen

Paul, Thank you for the kind compliments. We're glad you find the website of interest. Take care, Jack
